On Monday, December 4th the Supreme Court allowed Trump’s illegal Muslim ban to go into full effect while it is being litigated. This discriminatory ban prevents people from several Muslim-majority countries from coming to the United States, including individuals with families or jobs here. The American public has repeatedly rejected Trump’s bans in the streets and in the courts. Several court decisions have struck down Trump’s illegal, unconstitutional, and un-American attempts to enact his campaign promise of “a total and complete shutdown of all Muslims entering the United States.” This latest version of the ban is in effect for now but it is as hostile toward Muslims as the previous versions, and it should be shut down. Despite what the Supreme Court just decided, Congress can speak out directly against President Trump’s Muslim ban. If enough of us raise our voices now, we can stop the ban in its tracks.
