As public discourse on migration, immigrants, and refugees has intensified and polarized communities, immigrants and refugees in the United States live with increased challenges and anxieties. Social workers who work with immigrants and refugees must be aware of the policy, legal, and systemic challenges they face so that effective interventions can be implemented. This workshop will combine lecture and discussion formats to educate participants on existing issues and interventions, while providing facilitated space for participants to present emerging issues, share best and promising practices, and develop new or modified solutions.
